About us
The Omega Cyberspace Corporation, its divisions, and its technologies are part of a fictional universe.
The Omega Cyberspace Corporation was founded in 2005, after which it released the Echyon operating system. Not long after, the company shifted its focus more and more to scientific research, but kept the ‘Cyberspace’ in its name as a reminder of its roots.
Considering the greed driving many corporations, putting increased profits above all else – with no regard for the environment, people, or animals – the founder of the OCC, dr. Tiemens, thought it was important to make the OCC an example for society. To that end, the Corporate Council (the ruling organ of the OCC) formulated a set of founding principles that are to be upheld by all OCC employees to the best of their ability:
- All life is precious. No people are to be exploited, no animals are to be harmed. Animal testing is reduced to a minimum and avoided where possible.
- Be kind and helpful. We are all in the world together, so we should help each other out where possible. No bullying, no taking advantage of people, no stealing. In general, follow at least the following simple rule: `What you don’t want to happen to you, don’t do to others.’.
